A Cephalometric X-ray, or Ceph X-ray, is a diagnostic radiograph used primarily for orthodontic treatment planning. Ceph X-Rays are extraoral, so patients do not have to insert any sort of trays, bitewings or films into the mouth. They are also safe, fast, painless and extremely effective.
Cone Beam 3D Dental Imaging
Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray that is necessary when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. Your doctor may use this technology to produce three-dimensional images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan. With cone beam CT, an x-ray beam in the shape of a cone is moved around the patient to produce a large number of images. This makes it much easier to analyze the issue and make an accurate diagnosis, allowing for successful treatment planning and completion.Read more about Cone Beam 3D Dental Imaging
Among the most commonly used dental imaging techniques, digital x-rays are useful as they do not expose you to as much radiation as film x-rays tend to do. The imaging results helps our dentist identify any growths or abnormalities in the gums, teeth and enamel with efficiency.
The x-ray machine is connected to a computer that showcases the image within minutes of them being taken. This not only makes your dental appointment shorter, it also allows our dentist to view the results immediately instead of having to wait hours or days.
An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an image of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient's mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles.Read more about Intraoral Camera

KaVo DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Finder
The KaVo DIAGNOdent laser is a revolutionary, ADA approved method for detecting cavities using sound. Using a low-density laser, hidden decay is found much the same way a metal detector locates metal objects in the ground. When the laser pinpoints a cavity, it produces a sound. Thanks to this new technology, your dentist at Arnold Dental Center can discover unseen decay long before other conventional methods and provide treatment before larger oral problems develop. The procedure is quick and pain-free.Read more about KaVo DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Finder
